Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum

An absolute must when visiting Aachen.
A very nice museum.
Superb, superb, not to be missed
Pictures and statues from many eras, special furniture. A beautiful old staircase. Very, very nice museum staff. And a room full of various oddities. Gold work, ivory curiosities, porcelain, a shark, a crocodile, two mummies, a large tapestry rug and, and, and
Surprisingly beautiful collection of paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Also beautiful images Very varied
The museum contains wonderful works of art from the 15th to the 21st century on 3 floors. The staff is friendly and discreet. The museum is easy to reach and has parking garages nearby
Nova exposição em construção. A coleção permanente é boa.
Magnificent pictorial works that will take you back in time. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

All very nice and friendly employees. Unfortunately, I arrived very late and got the tip to first climb the top floor because it will be closed first....
From an architectural point of view, the Suermondt Ludwig Museum is worth a visit! The exhibition offers something for everyone. I'm not an art connoisseur, but was fascinated by the existing exhibits. Definitely will go again!
top museum, especially for Medieval art.
The current Dürer exhibition is well put together and allows the scattered exhibits from the Louvre, National Gallery London, Old Masters Gallery Dresden etc. to be seen in one place. Many background explanations, an accompanying film and animations in the exhibition help you understand the chronology of your trip to the Netherlands. Excellent 2 hour culture. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed, otherwise I would have made even more desire for more.
"Dürer was here" is a wonderful exhibition. Unfortunately, it only runs until November 24th, 2021. It should definitely be extended.
We visited the Dürer exhibition. It's really worth it. You must reserve in advance. The exhibition shows Dürer's travels to the Netherlands, how he was inspired by what he saw here, how later other artists were inspired by him.
Watch the exhibition "Dürer was here". Great exhibition in a nice museum.
Very very nice! There is currently a Dürer exhibition in this museum! The exhibitions on the other floors are also worth seeing! We recommend! Inconspicuous from the outside!
Wonderful building, great exhibitions, entertaining, exciting tours. Unfortunately, the café is small and the range is likely to be limited to a minimum in Corona times.
The Dürer exhibition was great. The bookstore was rather poor. Staff friendly.
Wonderful museum with now an exhibition with int.alure. About Durer. Please come here beautiful collection
A very interesting museum in the middle of a row of houses in a city. Very nice thematic special exhibition about Albrecht Dürer. Highly recommended!
Very nice Albrecht Dürer exhibition.
An exhibition about Dürer and his journey to Antwerp and Zeeland. A special piece of history set up from the notes of Dürer himself.
Great museum. Was there for the Albrecht Dürer exhibition. It was done very carefully and with great care. Very good concept from start to finish. You definitely have to see it. The rest of the exhibition is also very interesting :)
Nice museum with a fantastic Dürer exhibition. Well worth it.
Pretty good harvest. Here, I saw an excellent temporary exhibition of Dürer's works.
Cool ❤
Wonderful museum! Very interesting exhibition of Dürer. Surprising stained glass collection in the permanent collection
Super Dürer exhibition. Well done, garnished with contemporary 16th century painting. century . In two entertaining hours you can learn a lot about this artistic genius and his travels back then. In any case, a visit is recommended.
Was only there for a short time, but I found it very impressive. A longer visit is definitely on my to do list
Nice and worthwhile exhibition about Dürrer's works and his life. We had to make full use of the timeslot. Make a reservation at the weekend. For our 10 year old daughter it was a bit lengthy.
Superb Dürer exhibition. Do not miss
Did not expect this nice a museum in a midsize city.
It is very nice that this small, fine museum is now back in new splendor after renovation. We basically love it. We have also seen many small, fine special exhibitions here. ... and now we're looking forward to the next special exhibition ... "Dürer was here."
Very good exhibition "Dürer ist hier", with many works by Dürer, but also by contemporaries and later artists who were influenced by him. Informative accompanying texts about him and his works. The ticket had to be booked in advance. There are two car parks near the museum.
Very nice museum with a focus on Flemish painting. Currently special exhibition "Chambre privée". Friendly staff. Arrows on the floor guide you through the exhibition. Entry with a negative test. It is best to book a time slot online.
The reason for my visit was the exhibition on Albrecht Dürer. But a visit is also worthwhile elsewhere. Worth seeing :-).
Nice museum, Duerer exhibit was fine. 1negative point: the cafeteria is outdated , not a pleasant resting place.
The Dürer exhibition is impressive. However, it was very full and the time slot on the cards was not checked.
Is a very nice museum, with very nice old architecture. In addition to old paintings, there are great temporary exhibitions. Just went to Marc Riboud, photographs, his life's work
An amazing place for the fine arts collection. Knowledge staff who are very helpful. The best part kids friendly and lockers also available to keep the loads offs and stay easy...
A visit to the special exhibition of works by the late Marc Ribouds is highly recommended. Furthermore, various bushes and statues with Christian intent can be seen.
Time required about 3 hours, included in the SixforSix museum card, photography allowed without flash . The finest collection of religious statues I have seen so far. Very finely carved and what facial expressions . Of course, the paintings by Dutch masters are also quite nice .
Very great museum and changing exhibition and great originals by Warhol and Jeff Koons. A must for lovers of modern art!
Very interesting and one of the most important museums in Aachen with many art objects such as paintings, vases from the 12th to 18th centuries by well-known artists and furniture from the late 18th and early 20th centuries. Many works to look at from the Ludwig Foundation.
Like it
The SLM is a nice museum! The new exhibition "Beautiful as the reality - the still life of Balthasar van der Ast" is worth seeing! ;)
The SLM is worth it! In addition, Dutch painting of the golden age is well represented, and a separate room to see makes the specific subject painting of that time very vivid. With modern wall colors accentuating the thematic priorities, the museum offers a broad overview of art history and offers His library with the beautiful ceiling painting also the opportunity to work scientifically in a great atmosphere. The door to the library is mostly closed, though
I highly recommend the exhibition "Nicer than the Reality" - The Still Life of Balthasar van der Ast (1593/94 - 1657). It is a really special exhibition from the time of the "tulip fever": really a great "eye candy" with many, intense impressions. There is also a special story about a picture ... As a guide to the museum, I can recommend the art connoisseur Floria Benavides. By the way, it offers guidance in all languages, including: a. in Spanish as a native speaker. Many thanks again for the unique, empathetic care on the last Wednesday!
