Love the Städel. Even during a makeover it's still a great place to spend an afternoon Nice staff that is always helpful. Very good collection with a large number of renown paintings for this size museum. Information in their placards next to the art is interesting, thoughtful and doesn't forget English-speakers. Oh... and the coffee shop is excellent. If you are in Frankfurt you should go there.

Städel Museum, which is located on the long walking path on the side of the Main River, contains many works of art. The entrance fee is 14 euros for 2019. The ticket is valid for the whole day. Since the museum is large, it is a detailed

A good museum with lots of old artwork, as well as brilliant displays of modern art in the basement. Quite expensive, but a great deal if you go on a museum pass or on the Museumsuferfest weekend.

A great mix of classic and contemporary, so there's something for everyone. Well worth a visit if you're in Frankfurt.

Great museum with very interesting variety of exhibitions. Currently you must ensure a reservation. And although they limit the number of vi it was quite crowded

This bridge gets you right into the best spot of town. It can be crowded at night, but during the day and mornings, it is enjoyable to walk across

What can I say. This is a world class museum. It was absolutely worth going to. Also, check out the other museums on the same street. I could have spent 3 days just in museums.

How can you not be impressed with what the Staedel has to offer. We go often but most recently for the beautiful Renoir exhibition.

A very good medium sized fine arts museum with a strong permanent collection , including a rare Vermeer and beautiful Rembrandt. Very nice cafe with outdoor seating and small plate lunches.

Very nice museum for whoever is interested in fine art, make sure to come here a little early, there are quite a few paintings to go through and read about!

The art museum in Frankfurt is not huge but extremely deserves a visit for a whole day. The credit card cannot be used here and it is better to book the tickets online to save the time.

Wonderful museum with high quality international level exhibitions. (Such as Renoir) located next to river. Highly recommended for a Sunday afternoon!

Into the new' is on view until July 17th 2022. Don't shy away from the closed door on the left hand side of the entrance area or otherwise you'll miss an exquisite choice of U.S. American art on paper from the Städel's graphic collection.

Museu enorme com muitas das melhores obras de arte do mestre. Tudo, desde Van Gogh e Picasso e Botticelli a Rodin, Renoir e tudo mais! Museu verdadeiramente maravilhoso!

It's a great museum. Very complete and has some beautiful pieces. It would be nice if they made the android audioguide for the Renoir exhibit available on android or through html5 on their website.

Great museum. Lots of exhibits from important artists - Rembrandt, Tizian, Munch, Degas and others. Prepare yourself for a long visit. I think anyone should see this museum. It definitely enriches one’s culture. It’s even better if you have some art knowledge. Expect many people. And some… interesting… art at -2.

Very interesting museum. It’s huge so do wear comfortable shoes when visiting and expect a lot of walking. Downstairs is the contemporary art which I personally find more interesting than the older ones upstairs. There are QR codes to scan and have an interactive art experience as well as the possibility to listen to the audio guides on your phone. 3 hours would be a good duration to stay in this museum, as the downstairs area alone took me 2 hours.

stunning museum to spend your whole afternoon wandering through its aisle/exhibition. was a bit bummed that it doesn’t have van gogh’s paintings anymore.

Städel Museum is one of Germany’s oldest and internationally highly appreciated art places. Prior to 2013 it underwent a series of renovations and extensions that added an extra modern and fine style to the environment that surrounds its amazing collection. One point to be highlighted is the Städel Garden, impressive architecture work that not only brings fine looks to the exterior of the museum but also has an embedded relation to the interior providing natural light to the main underground hall. The Städel garden is a master piece, almost one of its kind. (An extremely similar architecture work can be found at the Academy of Science building in San Francico, California).

Really good art museum. Lots of artists, styles and mediums all related to the Frankfurt scene. Large venue worth the €14 ticket. I doooo recommend

Loved the Museum! We were lucky to see the Vincent van Gogh exhibit while we were in town in the fall of 2019.

Despo Evangelou 3 years ago

What an absolutely beautiful museum, so much art contained within three floors! Although the Van Gogh exhibition is very crowded and popular, the other two floors are definitely worth a visit, and slightly more quieter and relaxed.

Städel Museum is one of the must-see places when arriving in Frankfurt. It counts in a central place. If you go with your car, park on the side streets! The entrance fee is 14 €, definitely worth it. You can easily watch and take photos. almost all great artists have at least one masterpiece. There were no photo permits for only three sculptures. It was a great chance to see the EN PASSANT exhibition.

Great museum with so many fantastic works of art. I was lucky enough to visit the Städel museum during the temporary Van Gogh exhibition, and was able to enjoy some of his works. There are also many other amazing paintings by Old Masters on the upper floors that are in great condition for their age. All in all, a great afternoon well spent!

Nice mix of modern and classic art. Open plan on several floors. Staff are not overly friendly but the gallery has a good selection of art. Suggest you put your bag in the locker on arrival. Seems to be some confusion with the staff as to what bags are allowed. The lockers are located to the right of the front desk. Cost 1 Euro but it’s refunded after. Worth a visit.

Situated on the River Main across the pedestrian bridge, I walked 5 minutes from my hotel and used my Frankfurt card for a discount on my ticket! (You can get a 1 or 2 day Frankfurt Card at the train station tourist office and use the buses, subway and trains, including train to the airport, for the cost of the card and get discounts on museums and attractions! Totally worth picking up) The Städel is divided into an Old Masters/religious section, including a lovely Portrait of a Young Woman by Botticelli. A Modern Art section and Contemporary Art section including Andreas Gurskey, Gerhard Richter, Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol. They had two excellent temporary exhibits. I enjoyed the combination of old and modern architecture. Very much worth a visit as it’s one of the oldest museums on Germany. They have lockers, a coat room, gift shop, coffee shop and cafe.

Art museum including both modern and classic art covering a very wide range from 1300- today. Entrance is 14 Euro per person but it is free for children under the age of 12. It took around 2-3 hours to see around the museum. There are guided tours as well. If you are in Frankfurt, it is one of the must go places.

Amazing pieces of art, from very old (1400s) to very new (present day). The shape of the galleries have you weaving in and out of rooms so it's a step-counter's delight. Lovely gift shop and cafe. Only wish they had posted the brand and color of the wall paints because they were spectacular!

Incredible exposition of Van Gogh, if possible try to visit it before 02/2020 because it's incredible how well organized it is and how many workpieces there are together. Be aware you might need to wait in a line to get in, so if possible try to buy your ticket in advance with a booking on it

Great, wide ranging collection. Some may call it a bit fragmented, with just one or two paintings by many well known artists, but I really enjoyed the diversity. The Lotte Laserstein exposition was a real eye-opener. If you visit any museum in Frankfurt, this should be it. Be sure to get a Museumsufer-Ticket (check KulturPortal Frankfurt). This is a great way to get into many museums on the banks of the Main for a small amount on money. (Be prepared for some cold treatment at the entrance though - this lady really didn't appreciate having to give us any discount. Had to show her the website to convince her. Even then she told us we "drove her crazy". Oh well...)

One of the best art museums. If you are in Frankfurt, consider visiting this place. You can vitness around 2000 arts, including classic and modern. The museum has enough space to sit and relax. The entire area is very silent. If you are a person who like arts, then it is must go place for you. I liked and recommend it.

The museum building itself is a.great combination of tradition and modern. It was a great experience to have the professional guide with passion to share the background story of these collections!

Extraordinary museum! It costs a lot, but if you buy a 2day ticket for museums it costs 18 euros and you can see all museums of Frankfurt. Definitely worths to do it! The museum has a variety of modern age, like Picasso, Matisse, Van gogh, Renoir, Rodin, that I enjoyed the most. This period, it has a temporary exhibition about Rubens. Loved it! The cafe is nice, with view to the river and the town. The shop has big variety of books!

Excellent Museum. Filled with antique and contemporary art. It's a great mixture of the two. The museum have a great gift shop filled with a good range of art related books and an elegant space to sit down have a coffee and read. Friendly staff, free wifi and it cost 14€ to get in. The hot drinks are at a good price too.

Great collection, and easy to cover in a couple of hours. Monet, Manet, Warhol, Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Munch and much more! Great museum shop as well, as well as a cafe and restaurant. Well worth a visit if you have some time to spare in Frankfurt. The other museums nearby on museum mile look equally good.
