🗣️ Design Museum Brussels: Opiniões
Interesting highlights of recent history from design point of view
modern design inspiration, the historic ecolution of plastic industry to modern art and utilities
The collection of objects displayed is amazing and the explanations also enlightening
Fun space age plastic nostalgia - would go again . Highly reccomended if you like plastic . But wow extremely bad curation .....
Pretty cool place to visit. Reasonably priced especially for students. (13€ normal price, 8€ students price at the time of writing this comment)
If you are a designer or Photographer, you should must visit here
I thoroughly enjoyed the design museum. Their collection on plastic is amazing. Full disclosure I do thoroughly enjoy interior design and furniture. If that’s not your thing you may enjoy it less. We bought the 17€ ticket at Atomium that includes the top of the Atomium, the Atomium exhibit and the design museum. We found that to be good value for money as we wanted to go the design museum (10€ on its own) and were also interested in the Atomium. There was also another exhibit in the design museum but it appealed less to us than the plastic section and we were short on time so didn’t go in. Was very different subject matter so maybe a little something for everyone.
its really nice
Beautiful and organized, filled with intetesting ideas
A plastic dream come true. Experience the history of plastic chairs and much more.
Entry was free with an Atomium ticket and is well worth the visit for those interested in mid-century design. Is only a short walk from the Atomium back towards the Heysel metro station. The main exhibit was much bigger than expected with some really quirky pieces, really enjoyed the visit.
Absolutely brilliant museum, well designed and the layout was great. Very informative, definitely recommend
The museum fee is included in the atomium admission fee. It's a not too crowded place with a big exhibition on plastic and design of the 70s and 80s. Quite surprising to see devices that my parents have used in their youth
Not sure why this is rated so low as we found it to be one of the highlights of our Brussels trip! Museum of Plastics would be a better name as by far most of the museum was dedicated to the plastics exhibit, which was much more fascinating and inspiring than it sounds, and draws from a huge collection. The Belgian design section by comparison felt like a bit of an afterthought. There are temporary exhibitions but none was open when we visited. Shop was well stocked but also quite expensive. Included in the Atomium ticket and closes later - don't miss the chance to go! Standalone tickets were a bit expensive (£10) but still worthwhile if you're interested in the subject matter.
Beautiful during night time
Very creative.. learn alot from this museum.
A very nice surprise. Even if it's 500 meters from Atomium, it definitely worth the detour. You can find there great design templates, design artefacts from 60s or 70s, wonderful artsy stuff. They even have workshops for kids, and a nice shop with a diverse palette of objects.
We had a combined ticket for the Atomium and the Design Museum. And what to say? We've been very happy about!! The museum is absolutely a visit worthy, especially for people with interest in design, furniture design and arts. Great exhibition, very friendly and helpful employees. It's not that huge, but if you are interested you will take your time to watch everything.
I suggest it to people who love design.
many items that you think are gone, lost in time are there still.. Telephone, TV, razors, chairs , punck music and costume ... I loved it
The Punk Graphics temporary exhibition (Aug 2020) is excellent. The permanent plastic interior design exhibition is also fun - if you're interested in design, you will need a couple of hours to tour the whole museum.
Quaint and interesting design exhibits. Doesn't take more than an hour, so really recommended along with the Atomium.
An absolutely fascinating exploration of product design, and well worth the combined ticket price with the nearby atomium. We spent so long exploring that they had to kick us out!
Nothing great can see different kind of chairs
Really interesting exhibitions, great collection of iconic furniture and appliances.
Cool museum, nice for an additional activity along with the Atomium. The tickets to the Atomium allow free entrance to the museum.
So fascinating to learn about how much plastic and culture influenced an era
Very interesting permanent collection with unique designs around plastic over the decades, some world-famous pieces included. Well-thought-out explanations in 3 languages (English, French, Dutch) so it's quite accessible to lots of people. Some interesting temporary exhibitions to top it up, like the one on the evolution of the design of ephemera in Belgian club scene throughout the decades. Easy to reach via public transport, so quite worth a visit on a rainy day :)
Fun, strange, interesting museum. Cool and funky exhibitions. Worth stopping by to learn about design and plastic.
It is really cool. I visited during museums at night activity. Must be seen.
Very interesting place, so many ideas here
Made our day! Loved to read about our daily life furniture history and authors, difficulties they faced while designed those chairs, computers or anything that surrounds us everywhere, everyday. We were especially surprised that this museum has entire hall dedicated for non successful designs, super funny and interesting to hear what stories they hide behind and why couldn’t work in real life.
Bouth the ticket included with the atomium for 8euros. Really close to the atomium and is worth the visit.
Very nice exibitions, suprised!
Awesome, if you're not able to enter the Atomium the museum of art and design is really close and very interesting with different expositions #SovietDesignExpo
Wonderful museum with amazing exhibition. The permanent one about plastics used in technology, furniture, design et cetera was very good, and the temporary one about Sovjet technolgical esthetics, toys and other things blew me away. Awesome collections, and the items are nicely put together in a logical way with good text explanation. A sweet souvenir shop makes it one of my favourite museums in Bruxelles. Besides it close to Atomium (one gets discount if visiting both the same day) and the wonderful park. Only negative thing is below average toilet fascilities and horrible coffee in the gift shop.
Very interesting for those who love design, very large place full of interesting things
If design is your thing, and especially 60s to 80s plastics, this is the place for you.
It was a lovely experience going through the evolution and history of plastic in the plasticarium.
Very nice experience and a lot of interesting things in a retrospective of 2 expo. You'll get free entry if you get a ticket for Atomium.
